About Lynne

I began sewing in Middle School when my Home Ec teacher recognized my interest in sewing and taught me dressmaking and tailoring outside of school.  My interest then expanded to include quilt making.  What I find so appealing about quilts is the combination of mathematics, geometric shapes and art.  I thoroughly enjoy using beautiful fabrics and working with color theory.

For 20 years I had the good fortune to work at Pennington Quilt Works.  While there I taught quilting classes, designed and made quilt samples, and helped others design and create their own quilts.

In the early 2000’s, my interest widened again to creating art quilts, and I continue with that work today.  I try to find inspiration in the everything around me. Recently, I have been working  with everyday objects.  I then abstract them and add color to create a piece that will cause the viewer to look differently at something they might not have considered before.

I have done commission work for private clients as well as Fabric Trends magazine. Some of my current work will be shown in the juried FACE of the Rockies fiber art show in Estes Park, CO during the summer of 2021.
